Orange Central (Homecoming & Reunion) is just around the corner.  With over 100 different events there’s something for everyone.  Register now so you don’t miss out!  View the full schedule here and read a list of the Maxwell events below.  If you’d like to attend any of these events please make sure to register as seating is limited! (Note that the Veteran’s Day event requires a separate RSVP.)


Thursday, November 10

One-on-One with Sean O’Keefe G’78 and Jeff Glor ’97
8-10 p.m., Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium, Newhouse 3

National security expert and former NASA administrator Sean O’Keefe (’78 MPA) will talk with journalist and CBS News correspondent Jeff Glor (’97 BA Econ) about his unique experiences in both the public and private sectors.

Friday, November 11

Maxwell Complex Open House and Tours
10 a.m.-4 p.m., Maxwell Hall, Room 202

Veterans Day Ceremony and Luncheon
11 a.m. Hendricks Chapel

Syracuse University has a proud tradition of supporting veterans. Our historic role educating the post-World War II generation continues in our allegiance to post-9/11 servicemen and women.  Join us for an event recognizing this commitment and honoring our veterans and service members on campus.  Speakers include national security expert and former NASA administrator Sean O’Keefe (’78 MPA).

12 a.m. Reception at the Shine Student Center, Panasci Lounge

Join The Honorable Joanne F. Alper (’72 BA Am Std), Charles Gardner Geyh, a leading expert on judicial ethics, and Keith Bybee, director, Institute for the Study of the Judiciary, Politics and the Media at Syracuse University (and Maxwell Professor of Political Science), for a panel discussion on The Ethics and Politics of Allowing Judges to Advocate Controversial Views Outside the Court. Co-sponsored by the Tully Center for Free Speech.

Arents Award Luncheon
12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m., Schine Student Center, Goldstein Auditorium

Awards presentation of Syracuse University’s highest honor, the George Arents Award, created to recognize our alumni who are pioneers and leaders in their fields. Reservations required. Maxwell honorees include Sean C. O’Keefe and Joanne F. Alper.

Parking  Event parking is available at Booth Garage on Friday and in the Booth, Waverly and Ostrom facilities on Saturday and Sunday.  Make sure to tell the attendant that you’re here for the “Orange Central” events.   Free  parking, on a space available basis, is available for all the events!

  1. Special parking for the Veteran’s Day event is available as follows:

    1. Special needs parking – 30 spaces will be held on Q1 for those who need special needs parking. Laura Bates in the Army ROTC Office is the contact person to request a parking space in Q1. Her number is 315 443-2462
    2. The University Ave and Irving Garages have been designated parking spaces for the Veterans Day event. A shuttle will run from UAG and Irving Garage every 10 minutes, bringing guests to Hendricks Chapel.
    3. For those guests who need special parking in Q1, a shuttle will also be available outside Hendricks Chapel to shuttle guests to the Schine for the luncheon.
