Mohammad Al Murr, ’78 BA, Elected as Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council.

This past November, Maxwell alumnus Mohammad Al Murr was elected as the uncontested Speaker of the 15th legislative chapter of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC).

Al Murr, born in Dubai,  has been devoted to literature and the arts since childhood. He graduated with a BA in political science from Syracuse University. He is a Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.

He was a member of the board of directors, Emirates Media Incorporated, and a member of various academic institutions and councils. He was also the head of the Science and Cultural Association from its inception in 1987 until 2001.
