Jim Lewis ’98 MPA Appointed City Manager of Pismo Beach, CA

After serving as the assistant city manager in Atascadero, CA since 2004, Jim Lewis  has been selected as the next city manager of Pismo Beach from a field of over 80 candidates.

In his work in Atascadero, Lewis oversaw economic development, human resources, technology, organizational development, the creation of new revenues and operating efficiencies and several special projects. He helped to successfully transform downtown by facilitating the construction of a new 10 screen theater, several new shops and restaurants, and building pride amongst business owners. Previously, he served as Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Claremont.

Lewis is a credentialed manager with the International City Management Association (ICMA), and he currently serves on California-ICMA’s Committee on Ethics. He received a BS degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of Southern California and a Master of Public Administration degree from Maxwell.
