The Evanston Chamber of Commerce in Evanston, Ill. has honored Eugene S. Sunshine, senior vice president for business and finance at Northwestern University, for his leadership in the community service and nonprofit sector.
Sunshine has served as a member of the Chamber’s executive committee for many years. He is Northwestern University’s chief financial and administrative officer and is the principal adviser to the president on non-academic matters. His leadership and expertise in the field of community relations has been critical to Northwestern University’s relationships with the city government of Evanston, local businesses and nonprofits, and the city’s two school districts.
Sunshine, a leader at Northwestern University, has held his position for the last 16 years as senior vice president for business and finance, and previously held a similar position at Johns Hopkins University for 10 years. A Northwestern graduate, Sunshine also received a master of public administration degree from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University in 1972, and is a current member of the Maxwell School Advisory Board.
