In February, Peruvian President Ollanta Humala Tasso named Guillermo Marcial Gonzalez-Arica ’06 MPA Ambassador of Peru in Honduras. Also named as Peruvian Ambassadors were Carlos Velasco Mendiola and Heli Peláez Castro, who will serve as new ambassadors to Morocco and Kuwait, respectively.
Upon graduating from Maxwell, Gonzalez-Arica worked as Associate Director of the Global Center for Development and Democracy in Washington DC , which was founded by former President of Peru, Alejandro Toledo, in 2006. Its main objective is to promote the Social Agenda for Democracy for Latin America. Gonzalez-Arica was also a fellow at the Draper Hills Summer Program at the Center for Democracy, Development and Rule of Law at Stanford University and at the George Washington University Program of Political Management. Recently, he became Director of the Academic Program of Political Marketing at the University of San Ignacio of Loyola in Lima, Peru.
