Class of 1963 50th Reunion Kickoff Cocktail Party
Don’t miss this fun, informal cocktail party featuring good food, lots of conversation, and memories.
Friday, October 4
The Erie Canal and Its Engineering History featuring Professor Sam Clemence
9 a.m., 107 Hall of Languages
Come experience one of the greatest stories of American technology, the engineering achievements of the Erie Canal. After its opening in 1825, the impact of the Canal was extraordinary – both on the state of New York and the United States. Also called, “The Mother of all Cities” and “Pathway to an Empire,” the Erie Canal led upstate New York to become the equivalent of our modern day “Silicon Valley.”
Maxwell Complex Open House and Tour
10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Maxwell Hall, Room 202
The tour of Maxwell and Eggers will depart from 202 Maxwell at 11 a.m. Refreshments will be available for alumni throughout the afternoon. If you miss the tour, feel free to walk through the complex and look for the historical markers throughout the buildings.
Arents Award Luncheon
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Schine Student Center, Goldstein Auditorium
Awards presentation of Syracuse University’s highest honor, the George Arents Award, created to recognize our alumni who are pioneers and leaders in their fields. Reservations required. Honorees include Sid Lerner, Maxwell friend and founder of the Lerner Center and Healthy Monday Campaigns.
25th Herbert Lourie Memorial Lecture on Health Policy

Catch all the excitement and the Syracuse spirit on the Quad at the Orange Central Tailgate, a special meeting place for our alumni and reunion classes. Pay-as-you-go food available.
SU vs. Clemson Football Game
Time TBD, The Dome
Join students, alumni, and fans as the SU Orange face the Clemson Tigers in the Orange Central football game and our first ACC conference game at home. Class of 1963 Golden Anniversary Dinner

Come and enjoy a celebration of 50 years at this gala dinner for the class of 1963. Cocktails are at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Business attire.
