Margaret Abraham ’89 PhD (Soc) elected president of sociology association

alum-news-button111171Margaret Abraham was recently elected President of the International Sociological Association and will serve ISA till 2018. The ISA represents sociologists hailing from 167 countries, and has since 1949. Abraham, a professor of sociology at Hofstra, is the second woman to serve as president of the ISA.

Margaret Abraham received a PhD in sociology from the Maxwell School in 1989.
