Mitchel Wallerstein ’72 MPA , former dean of Maxwell, made fellow of AAAS


On Saturday, February 14, Mitchel Wallerstein, president of Baruch College and former dean of Maxwell, was made a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Wallerstein was selected for his scholarly contributions, and leadership in higher education. Prior to his deanship at Maxwell and current post at Baruch, Wallerstein served as vice president of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He previously worked as U.S. deputy assistant secretary of defense, and senior defense representative for trade security from 1993-1997. Wallerstein was dean of the Maxwell School, and professor of political science and public administration, from 2003-2010.
