Joseph Hanna ’14 MPA, Founder of Bunkers in Baghdad

Joseph Hanna founded Bunkers in Baghdad after learning that golf had become a favorite form of stress relief for soldiers serving in combat zones overseas. The purpose of Bunkers in Baghdad is to collect new and used golf balls and clubs and then ship them overseas to soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The organization reaches soldiers in 32 countries around the world and wounded warriors in all 50 states. Bunkers in Baghdad has most recently reached a milestone as Hanna will ship the organizations six millionth golf ball to soldiers serving overseas. Hanna is also a partner at Goldberg Segalla, where he serves as Chair of the law firm’s Sports and Entertainment Law Practice Group, chair of the Diversity Task Force and editor of the Sports and Entertainment Law Insider blog. Hanna received the Erie County Bar Association Lawyer of the Year award and is the youngest recipient to ever win this award.
