Janet St. Laurent is the recent recipient of the 2015 Maxwell Public Administration Alumni Award. St. Laurent has had a distinguished career at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), culminating in her position as the managing director of the defense capabilities and management team.
St. Laurent has been featured in an article on federalnewsradio.com that discussed the opening of the GAO’s training center for government watchdogs. St. Laurent is the center’s director and believes it will be of great use to developing nations with relatively young and small government auditing bodies. The center will offer a mix of skills-based training and capacity-building services.
