Michelle Alletto is now the Deputy Secretary at the Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals (DHH). In her new role as the Deputy Secretary, she will serve as the chief operating officer of DHH and act as the spokesperson for the department in the absence of the Secretary. The Deputy Secretary is the coordinator for DHH’s Human Services Interagency Council (HSIC) and is solely responsible for the direct supervision of the Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities, the office of Behavioral Health, the Office of Public Health, the Office of Aging and Adult Services, and the Louisiana Commission for the Deaf and the Community Human Services Statewide Framework.
Previously, Alletto served within the Office of Public Health’s Bureau of Family Health. Prior to that, she served as the Deputy Director for the DHH Birth Outcomes Initiative. Before moving to Louisiana, Alletto lived in Washington, D.C., where she was the Assistant Director for Public Policy at the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs.
