Kerri Raissian ’08 MPA/’13 PhD (PA) wins Raymond Vernon Memorial Award

alum-news-buttonKerri Raissian won the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management’s (JPAM) Raymond Vernon Memorial Award for her paper, “Hold Your Fire: Did the 1996 Federal Gun Control Act Expansion Reduce Domestic Homicides?” The paper was first published in the Winter 2016 issue of JPAM. The Vernon Memorial Award, created by the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management in 1985, seeks to annually recognize excellence in research through the selection of a paper published in the current volume of JPAM. Raissian’s paper provides the first empirical examination of the impact of the 1996 expansion of the federal Gun Control Act on domestic homicides. She is an assistant professor of public policy at the University of Connecticut.
