Greg Ahlgren’s latest novel, Fort Fisher: The Battle for the Gibraltar of the South, was recently published. A historical novel told from the point of view of enlisted combatants on both sides, as well as from the point of view of a woman who served as the chief Union spy, Fort Fisher tells the story of the four-day battle between the combined forces of the Union Army and Navy against the Confederate Army at Fort Fisher. In addition to his work as an author, Ahlgren has been a criminal justice professor, a state legislator, and a political activist. His books include the alternate history time-travel novel, Prologue, and the international thriller, The Medici Legacy. He and Stephen Monier co-authored the true crime book Crime of the Century: The Lindbergh Kidnapping Hoax.
