Edward Cupoli ’77 MA /’87 PhD (Econ) Appointed to Governor Cuomo’s START-UP NY Approval Board

alum-news-buttonGovernor Cuomo appointed Cupoli to the START-UP NY Approval Board, which reviews and approves plans forECupoli tax-free areas that universities and colleges can use to leverage private investment. He brings to the board over 40 years of experience in the formation of university-industry-government partnerships.

In addition to serving on the board, Cupoli is an emeritus professor at the University of Albany, where he recently served as professor of NanoEconomics and head of the NanoEconomics Constellation at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering. Cupoli also held posts as the chief economist and director of research for the Ways and Means Committee of the New York State Assembly as well as the chief economist at SEMATECH.
